I don't want you to get the wrong idea, I like some franchises out there, and I have enjoyed even some sequels of franchises that I'm not that enthusiastic about. However, there seems to be an overload of sequels just flooding theaters and shows. It's not about quality, although a majority of sequels end up falling on the "meh" or "bad" side of quality, it's about movie going experience. There is something about watching a movie with characters you don't know anything of and a world you're not familiar with, that's a very rare feeling when you go to the movies nowadays. The last big movie that I can remember watching(and absolutely loving) that wasn't a sequel, prequel, remake, spin-off, book adaptation and so on was Inception. That was 6 years ago

I know there has been plenty original films ever since, but many are smaller scale films simply because studios rather put money for a sequel regardless of its quality(or its demand) just so they get their money back. Brands are everything nowadays.
Are you afraid that there might come a time where the film industry is just one big parade of sequels nobody asked for?
Are you okay with all of them?
