They desperately need the new Six Feet Under

Despite it flopping, I'm actually surprised. At least Luck had the good excuse of the horses dying during production.

HBO usually sticks with dramas for at least 2 seasons esp 2008+.

Leftovers is coming for a 3rd and final season; Game of Thrones has supposedly 14 episodes left; True Detective's reputation is pretty low right now. And that comprises all their dramas.

Westworld is their next big show anyways

But The Newsroom wasn't a period piece so it was probably cheaper for them to produce that show. Vinyl not only is a period piece but it also has many big names attached to it so I guess they needed more money or something, and since it was a disappointment ratings-wise they probably didn't want to throw money on another unsuccessful season. & they have The Deuce coming up another period piece with big names

This news actually makes me scared for Westworld's fate. Hopefully, it will be their next big hit.

This show reminded me so much of Boardwalk Empire, in that there were a lot of great characters, but the story was so ****ing dull But Boardwalk got five seasons and this only got one
