I guess he didn't get the memo, but Leave it to Beaver and Ozzie & Harriet are what's known as fiction. That idyllic time period when there was no violent crime or immigration never existed.

Furthermore, it's not like immigration is a new development or anything. Bigots have been complaining about immigrants ruining the country since the 1840s. What do you think the Nativist movement was about?
