Selena Gomez‘s high-fashion makeover continues: the 23-year-old pop singer is the face of Louis Vuitton’s latest campaign.
"Wearing Vuitton makes me feel strong and confident. Nicolas knows how to make a woman feel good about herself. At the last fashion show in Paris, I wore a denim skirt and a white shirt. I felt very simple and chic. Then there are the times I feel more edgy and sexy wearing LV."
"Ghesquière, Vuitton’s creative director of women’s collection, hails Gomez as a “unique talent” and an “icon of her generation. I like her energy. A whole generation of boys and girls recognize themselves in her, and she unleashes something special”."
"“A lot of dancing was going on” is how Nicolas Ghesquière describes the atmosphere at Louis Vuitton’s fall campaign shoot, which was scored by unreleased Selena Gomez tracks, the star of the ads."
"We did the shoot in Miami, and it was incredibly laid-back. I have done photo shoots since I was very young, and, to me, the most important thing at a shoot is to be surrounded by people with good energy. We aren’t saving the world here, so it should be light and fun."
The ads break in August issues, with Ghesquière and Gomez leaking certain images earlier this week on their personal social media accounts. Appearing alongside the singer are models Erika Linder, Rianne Van Rompaey, Natalie Westling, Sora Choi, Jean Campbell and Luisana Gonzalez.
"I have had the honor of working with Bruce Weber before, so it was great to already have a connection and I consider Nicolas a good friend at this point. We did the shoot in Miami and it was incredibly laid back. The both of them are very passionate and enthusiastic about their work. Wearing Vuitton makes me feel strong and confident. Nicolas knows how to make woman feel good about herself."

"Selena’s popularity is fascinating; she’s an icon for her generation. And yet, there is a disarming sincerity and true presence about her, she’s very direct and grounded. She’s spontaneous and always up for discovering new things. Two years ago, she has already approached me in her very simple, easy-going manner and now I’m watching as she changes and grows. For a designer it’s extremely gratifying to participate in the process as a woman evolves."
