She's always been seen as a joke since 1984. The Erotica era was seen as a pure publicity stunt and everybody thought she was over and pop girls like Janet and Whitney had snatched her throne. Now in hindsight the SEX project is perceived as some revolutionary feminist masterpiece, and the same will happen to the RH era.
