It might seem like the Oscars are too far from now to even begin thinking about, but it is never too early to start looking at who might be in the running for some of the most important awards in the entertainment industry, especially because this year, it looks like there may be some familiar names on at least one of the shortlists. They will both be nominated but I def don't see Just Like Fire winning anything.

I don't see a nomination. I see these songs as that track from the album that gets featured on a film, not solely done just for the film.

No matter how you see them, both songs were written for the movies.

Alice didn't do well with critics (or with audiences) so that might be JLF's undoing. This doesn't look like an extremely weak field like last year when a 50 Shades song got in. Lin-Manuel Miranda is getting ready to SCALP for Moana. Zootopia is acclaimed and a billion dollar movie so incentives enough for them to nominate Try Everything.

Both are meh.
Hopefully,SING's theme song will snatch it.

If Happy couldn't win Can't Stop the Feeling won't either. However I can see nominations for both.
