Christina Grimmie’s Team Wins Prize for Humane Society!

The team led by Christina Grimmie, the former contestant on “The Voice” and YouTube star who was shot dead last week, has won the $250,000 grand prize for the Human Society of the United States in a “social giving” charity event.
The Charity Champions League competition, launched earlier this month by CBS’s EcoMedia, featured 10 other celebs who led teams in support of various nonprofit orgs.
In honor of the slain singer, the Humane Society is creating the Christina Grimmie Animal Medical Fund to provide veterinary attention and ongoing care for its most critical animal rescue cases. “We hope that the Grimmie family, and her worldwide fans, take some solace in knowing that her compassion for animals and people will live on through this life-saving program,” Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of the Humane Society said in a statement.
