UPDATE with full cast list: Jeremy Howard (CBS Diversity Showcase), Adam Ray (The Heat, Spy), Carlie Craig (Todrick), Chelsea Davison (These Girls), Amir K (Last Comic Standing), Lyric Lewis (CBS Diversity Showcase), Piotr Michael (The Howard Stern Show) and Michelle Ortiz (CBS Diversity Showcase are set as the new cast members for the CW’s revival of Emmy-winning sketch comedy series MadTV.
The network unveiled the cast today. The series premieres Tuesday, July 26 at 9 PM.
Like the original series, which aired in late-night on Saturdays, the revival will feature MadTV‘s signature pop-culture parodies and politically incorrect humor and star up-and-coming comedy voices. The new series also will acknowledge its past, featuring special appearances from returning cast members of the original series as hosts of each episode.
What the hell? I thought they'd bring back the original cast? I wanted Debra Wilson, Stephnie Weir and Nicole Parker back...
This is pointless. Don't call it MadTV then. It's not a MadTV revival if not a single person from any of the original casts is returning and if it's not even on the same network
YAS! I'm excited to see it includes so many different minority voices and comedians writing and performing in this. SNL fails on that part constantly and it's time for a younger more relevant voice to be heard on a similar platform.
And as for all the purist you just need to stop. You know damn well that if they brought all the OG cast back you'd watch 2 episodes and then comment about how 'it's not as good as before' in the damn thread. Those casts were full of unknowns back then too.
