Because Muslims get way more hate in general by the public and the liberals love to stand up for minorities that get hate whether they need/deserve it or not.

Liberals don't "hate" Christians. We just get annoyed with people that make decisions of policy off of Christianity as if it's the objective right choice.

Muslims are given a much harder time in the Western world than Christianity. Muslims are branded by the corporate media as terrorists and generally disgusting people.

I find the Religions equally abhorrent, but under no circumstance should you ever paint everyone with the same brush.

In my personal experience muslims are nicer than christians, so I will always defend muslims. If I am ever on a jury I will put a Christian in jail even if he or she is clearly not guilty.

This. At least stateside, it's the Religious Right that's fervently trying to push their worldview on all American citizens that's the issue here. They then pretend that they're the ones being victimized when they don't get their way. Plenty of those same liberal people who have a problem with this are also Christians.

Muslims don't have the same presence and power in the U.S. and are too busy dealing with their own issues from the same conservatives people and groups. So, they're not the ones stateside that are driving discriminatory legislation and practices shrouded under the veil of their religious beliefs here.

We just don't like it when people try to base legislation off of religion. Take Europe for example. There are a lot of liberals over there who have a bitter feeling toward Muslims because they may live in areas where Islamic law has in some way influenced legislation.

Also Muslims are constantly under fire. Christians aren't nearly persecuted as much as Muslims are in the west.
