Gawker illegally posted a sex-tape featuring Hulk Hogan. They then publicly bragged about ignoring a court order to take it down. They were then successfully sued by Hulk Hogan and were hit with $140m in damages. They bragged they would beat it on appeal. They didn't and are now filing for bankruptancy! LMAO!
Obviously. They are part of the Gawker group. The best assets will likely be bought up once the court case is over. Once all the valuable news sites in Gawker group are sold, then sites like Jezebel may potentially be bought too.
It is somewhat amusing that this news broke the very day that Gawker was tweeting about one of it's stories about how Donald Trump didn't pay his bills! The irony!
