Writing process started in November 2008, and started off with a raw acoustic vibe. It also claimed to have few rock songs. In May 2010, Avril stated she wanted to balance the record with some upbeat fun songs.

Album artwork
The album artwork was shot with Mark Liddel in December 2009. It is not certain if Avril will re-shoot the album photoshoot. No leaks from the photoshoot have surfaced.

Album Progress
Avril stated, after 2 and a half years of writing, that the album was "wrapped" in October 2010. At that point Avril said that the single would hit the airwaves "very soon".
Album Release
Album is set for release in early 2011. A single is due out anytime.

Nooooooo! She will not conform and copy other artists. Avril will stick to her roots. She will have real instruments on her songs, she will sing vocals without abusing Auto-tune. She will be talented and play instruments on her own album.
