Season 1 starts January, 2012 or asap when the list of participants is complete.
I love to see the fact that there are a lot of Pokemon stans in here. So I came up with this tournament.
By the way, I'm Ryan your judge, referee, and the announcer for this tournament.
Here's how it goes,
There will only be 16 ATRL pokemon participants. I will be randomly picking who will be your opponent. Each player will only possess 3 pokemons. It's up to the participant which pokemon they will choose. They can select all the way from Generation 1 to Generation 5 sets of pokemon.
YOUR POKEMON:
You are only allowed to choose 3 pokemons and you have the freedom to choose what they would be. All pokemons in this tournament will initially be on level 12 and we will be referencing everything in the gameboy/nintendo version of the pokemon RPG.
By the time you're going to submit your entries in their final line-up format, it could be either through posts or private message. That 3 pokemon is your only saving grace throughout the tournament so again make sure you choose the good ones unless being traded with another participant.
Make sure that the pokemon you’re going to choose is in its initial stage.
To clarify my point, you can never begin a Blastoise with a level 12, right?
THE FINAL LINE- UP:
While you choose which pokemon is going to make the cut, make sure you send those private messages to me in their final line up setting for each round. You can make necessary changes in the next round.
* Example: 1st: Pidgeotto 2nd: Rattata 3rd: Butterfree.
SKILLS:
Just like the gameboy or in nintendo versions, there will only be 4 moves in store for the pokemon you choose. So, I will be determining what moves your pokemon's going to have by the time you already have your final entries.
HM and TM moves are ignored here. I will be asking the trainer what moves to learn and forget.
LEVEL:
If you won the tournament, you're pokemon obviously gains experience thus a new move will be taught and you have to delete an older move. I will be in charge what moves your pokemon will be learning along the process. Again, all pokemons in the tournament will have an initial level of 12.
TURNS:
When you're about to start a fight with your opponent, you're only given 10 turns for each Pokemon fights. The 10 turns include 7 turns from the learned skills plus 3 dodge attacks.
When it’s your turn to battle, the two players will be sending me the listed moves through a private message. That list will be my guide for any changes you made during the course of your battle.
You will be strictly following the list (where your Pokemon’s turns are listed) that you sent me. Any alterations caused during the course of the game will result to elimination.
* Example: Pidgeotto Level 13 : 10 turns ( 1st-gust 2nd – gust 3rd – quick attack, 4th- dodge, 5th- gust, 6th- gust, 7th- dodge, 8th- dodge, 9th- quick attack, 10th-dodge)
* All players will have an alternate turn in battling OFC.
STATS:
We will be using this
database for our reference in battling. That site will also be our Official Pokedex in this tournament.
The first player who can answer a pokemon trivia question correctly will initialize the fight.
EVOLUTION:
When a certain level is reached through the number of winnings in the battle, I will be determining when the Pokemon’s going to evolve. If some evolution stones are needed, I will be asking the owner after their winnings or after a certain level is reached whether they want their pokemon to evolve or not.
TRADING OF POKEMON:
It will be witnessed through this thread when you want to trade your Pokemon.
THE TWIST:
It’s a survival of the fittest type of tournament and you have just to be so lucky enough to win.
You can never switch Pokemon.
When you’re Pokemon has fainted you must use immediately the second pokemon from your final line-up. No full heal potions, revive potions and other potions you can think of can save your Pokemon from fainting.
Your Pokemon’s health will be fully recovered when it’s on for the next round.
RULES:
No flamebait. No trolling. You can use graphics to emphasize your move and even gifs to make it more interesting and less boring while battling.
The legendary pokemons are not allowed to play in this tournament but stay tune for their appearances during the course of this thread.
Daytime and nightime are not going to be an issue of the game. I'm just going to tell you when your Pokemon's going to evolve.
A maximum waiting time of 8 hours for a player upon his/her chance/time/turn to initiate or continue the battle.
A message or a wall post like I did to some of you will bring you awareness of what's going on to this game.
YOUR TRAINER SLOGAN:
What kind of trainer are you? A grass-type, normal –type trainer, etc? It’s up to you. Make your catchy introduction from time to time when you are about to start a new round in battle.
Example: I’m Ash from Australia. A grass type trainer. I will be the ATRL Pokemon Champion and I will be number one.
Battle 1: strangergab (winner) vs
freebitch26
strangergab's pokemon ( deino, bagon, dratini) - all level 18
freebitch26's pokemon (meditite, riolu, tepig) - all level 12
Battle 2: attitude vs stereo.love
Season 2 follows right after the season 1 is over.
