So sistrens I'm thinking on going to Erasmus in Poland, Kraków to be more precise, Budapest and Prague are my other options but it will most likely be Kraków but am wondering if Poland is an homphobic country? I know it's a beautiful country with tons of alcohol diversity which is why I'm going there but what do they think about us gays? Any Polish or anyone that is aware about it can give me some advice or sumthin? Thank you

It's an extremely catholic country and not as liberal as other European countries (France, U.K., Germany, Spain, Netherlands, etc.).
There are homophobic people everywhere, though.

EDIT: I forgot that my friend who used to live in Poland almost got beaten up after he left a gay club! Stay safe if you're going there and don't do anything to put yourself at risk.

It's super homophobic but there are even worse reasons not to go tbh.

As for racism, it's quite racist, too. You don't see many black people on streets in big cities such as Warsaw, Poznań or Kraków, but then again if you're only half black I don't think it's gonna be a big problem.

It's different when you live in a city or in a village. Cities are much more gay-friendly. Feel free to visit Krakow, it's the best possible choice from Polish cities

Poland has some LGBT anti-discrimination laws, it's an EU requirement to protect people in at least employment and some places go further than that.

The current Hungarian government is actually more conservative.
