DULUTH, MN, Jan 09, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Voting has opened for the more than 800 bands vying for votes in maurices ASNA +0.12% "Hometown Sound" nationwide band search. The leading hometown specialty store and fashion authority developed the search in partnership with PlayNetwork and Sonicbids. Building on momentum from last year's contest, which featured 525 bands who received more than 63,000 votes and wide-spread social media attention, maurices today announces chart-topping rock band Evanescence has joined the search as another Partner Artist.
Along with hot global electro soul posters Graffiti6, Evanescence music will be featured in maurices stores during the competition. The Partner Artists will also promote "Hometown Sound" to their fans, while offering advice to the contestants in "Behind the Scenes" interviews available on the band search contest microsite. "I remember at the beginning of my career feeling like it was a fight and I had a lot to prove," said Amy Lee, front-woman of Evanescence. "If there's ever any message, it's just to be yourself."
I'm kinda over them now, but I'll always consider "The Open Door" to be their best effort to date. I really don't understand why it's their most underrated album both within and outside the fanbase, especially in comparison to "Fallen". I think it's better than "Fallen" in every way.
I feel like this might become my favorite Evanescence video.
Oh and I've been stanning for them since 2006. I knew them when they came out but I didn't really get into them until The Open Door came out I wish their hiatus had not been as long as it was..
