My prediction was like 65 - 70K, off of her name alone, but I understand these numbers, based on the reception of her singles. The GOF era, the long break and all the underwhelming standalone releases in between really hurt her.
The album is pretty good though, so it's a shame. I wonder if any of the songs can work on radio to give the album legs. Doubt it. Radio completely ignored the singles... She's in a weird place, but she worked really hard on this record.
RCA should have launched it in a different way, given the content of the album. Did she even have promo?
That's really underwhelming considering at one point she once had an album with 742K first week. Different sales climate I guess, but even so Girl On Fire did 159K. She deserves better
Also to put it into perspective for y'all:
It's gonna sell less than what the Element of Freedom sold in it's FIFTH week.
