Britney. Her downfall was iconic and still talked about today.

Britney's decline was huge.

Has Elusive Chanteuse even sold 250k worldwide? Mariah had just completely vanished

MIAMTEC produced at least a semi hit and an iconic album title
BJ only had an unfortunate acronym.

Mariah pretty much ruled a whole decade sales wise. Then had the huge comeback era (TEOM) after we all thought she was done.

Britney had 4 really great to solid eras. After that...a mess.

Anyway, the answer is still Britney. Mariah is a living legend, super iconic and has a top 40 hit every single year. Downfall isn't that big. MIAM era also produced a top 20 Platinum single (Which lasted in the top 20 for more than 2 weeks )

Meanwhile Britney just went from Sittin on top of the world and being the "iconic white female pop artist" to what she is today. It's such a shame.

Britney by far. Mariah is still selling some copies at 40+ it won't be the same for Britney at that age.

I guess Britney because she had more to lose. Not only did she decline musically, but performance wise as well. Not to.mention she doesn't even sing her own songs in the studio anymore.
