Lana Del Rey's Born to Die album was certified Platinum by IFPI after shipping one million copies in Europe. The album received platinum certifications in European countries such as Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Poland, Russia and Switzerland before.
To date, Born To Die has sold over 500,000 copies in the UK (2x platinum certification pending maybe) and has total worldwide sales of 2 million.

She'll get a 2X plat cert here when she reaches 600k, same for Emeli Sandé, the race is on. Also Lana hasn't really had a big hit here so she's done very well (VG and BTD peaked at #9 but not for long).

Pretty impressive considering the lack of GP appeal and the declining album sales.

Great to see a decent album selling well on its own merits, really without any huge singles, and not a huge amount of promo.

It will definitely reach 2x Platinum in the UK and I am confident it will eventually be a million seller here.
