Ngl, I have taken part in trash talking her but I don't get the whole 'she's basic' thing... I see fans of other artists whom I shall not name coming for Katy saying she's basic yet their fave is the definition of basic.

She has a very unique and distinguishable studio voice, better than Gaga, Rihanna, Britney, etc.
Her videos are cute and fun. Her music is nowhere near as bad as some of the other pop girls.
She's really pretty and charismatic.

So what is about her that most you dislike her for?

She can't sing or dance well, she works primarily with Dr. Luke, and she discounts + remixes her singles so they go #1 I like some of her music but she's very manufactured imo.

I dont HATE her. She seems nice but I think her voice is SOOO unappealing and is a gaga copycat.

As if she wouldn't be hated if she never tweeted this, sad excuse.

People are pressed over them thinking she has no talent but has become one of the most popular pop stars in the world right now.

Because everyone knows she is the perfect pop star and will eventually become the biggest legend that has ever lived on planet Earth.

Most people are just pressed about her #1's.

For me, it's because she went the easiest way to the top with TD by copping out to be this cheap, sex-selling popstar. She lost that realness and authenticity in style that I remember I felt from OOTB, even if the songs were just decent. It was a good starting point anyway.

E.T is still my favorite song of hers though

She's harmless. Teenage Dream is a good pop album.

She said the Alejandro video didn't align with her values (I know, what a horrible human being she is ) and a lot of people take her self-deprecating humor the wrong way.

She's a sweet girl with very catchy songs who doesn't think she's something she's not, I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up outlasting all of the current pop girls

She is only hated on ATRL. In the real world, she seems to be the most well received pop girl. I have never come across someone saying that they "hate" Katy Perry. This forum seems to be the only place where people are overly bitter.
