I was watching tv today and I came across this enlightening segment. So I decided to thread the exposure.

An investigation by The Advocate revealed a Baton Rouge sheriff's office has been arresting gay men after they've agreed to consensual sex with another man that does not involve any money changing hands. They're arresting them for having gay sex, essentially, because they're one of the few sheriff's offices enforcing a law thrown out by the Supreme Court ten years ago.
A task force with the East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's office that's supposed to police prostitution and child predators have performed these stings on gay men at least a dozen times since 2011, The Advocate discovered.

Here is what I think. There are more closeted Gays in Russia. So there are less Gays been victimized. If there were more Gays out of the closet like in the USA the Violence will most likely go up and be much worse. Also in Russia they probably dismiss these Hate crimes.
I say Russia was more Progressive for Gays in 1993 and lately have gone backwards and they are way more Unprogressive in 2013 under Putin.
This is a DAMN LIE. I watched a news special about gay beatings in Russia and it showed at least 36 attacks alone in it. Most of those attacked don't even try reporting it because the cops react nonchalantly and say, "You're gay. You're supposed to be beat up. You should be used to it."
NO. Pro-russian propaganda. In Russia you are excluded out of society for being gay and even get arrested. Anti-gay crimes aren't registered.
