As an actual black person I've always wondered why a large majority of black parents spank/whoop their kids. Why is that? And is it ok to hit children to teach them a lesson?
. "If you don't listen you must feel" was the motto my parents had with me growing up. I really think it's a generational thing. My parents spanked me, they got spanked and I'm sure my grandparents did too. It's done as a way to get the message across that you shouldn't do whatever reckless behaviour you did to get the whopping in the first place. Of course there are variables to it as with everything, but I do think it's effective. A lot of the stupid **** I did as a kid I deserved the spankings and you better believe I never repeated those things I got spanked for.
