As Lady Gaga's 'Born this Way' remains at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the fourth consecutive week, new allegations that the song was plagiarized have arisen, and this time it has nothing to do with Madonna.
A pair of music producers called E-Tribe are planning to question the Mother Monster about the resemblance between a song they wrote for the South Korean girl group SNSD called 'Be Happy' and 'Born this Way.' In a statement from representatives for E-Tribe, they seem to be looking into 'similarities:'
Quote:
Someone this morning told me that there were reports of Lady Gaga plagiarizing SNSD's Be Happy. I listened, and I do feel that there are similarities. The way the song flows and the arrangements are, honestly, the same. I am currently working to get in contact with Lady Gaga's publishing label to find further information.
There do seem to be some similarities, but nothing glaring. Frankly, Madonna's 'Express Yourself' seems like a closer match.
Are these two producers just trying to ride Lady Gaga's success?
