However, Ariana actually promotes her material a lot and her eras feel more full because she makes an effort to be all over the place. High profile collaborations like Nicki don't hurt either so I think her music career is bigger than Selena's still.

Last time I checked THWWIW, GFY, SOL, and HTM all outsold DW globally. The numbers don't lie. Seethe while Selena remains bigger globally, not just in 2016 and is taken very seriously by producers and other artists. Also she had at least two hits from each of her eras since 2011 whereas Ariana has only managed to have more than one hit in one era nearly 2 years ago and hasn't been able to repeat that success and most likely never will.
