NTV Music Lovers Taping + “HS/SG” Single Updates
The taping of Utada Hikaru’s upcoming appearance on NTV Music Lovers will be on March 16th. The episode will air exactly one week after that on the 23rd. There is no word on what song she may be performing. Credit goes to UBlog for the heads up.

At the end of Week 2, the total physical sales of “HEART STATION/Stay Gold” is now 62,070 copies. “HEART STATION” still remains at the #1 position on the weekly airplay charts for the 3rd consecutive week according to Hot Express. “Fight the Blues” is also currently at #5 in the daily ranking.

MORE NEWS
There will be 2 additional live TV appearances for the promotion of her upcoming Japanese album “HEART STATION,” according to her official site. Utada Hikaru will be appearing on HEY!x3 Music Champ’s Spring Live Special on March 31st, and will appear on TV Asahi’s Music Station Special on April 4th. It is likely that Hikaru will be singing “Fight the Blues” at Music Station.

According to Fuji TV’s blog, an episode of “Domoto Kyoudai” with Utada was filmed today which will be airing on March 16th. Utada Hikaru sang “Flavor of Life.” It is no surprise due to how extremely well this single has sold. Credit goes to Nakatani-san for the heads up.

Last but not least, “Flavor of Life” was named “Single of the Year” & “PC Download Song of the Year” in the 22nd annual Japan Gold Disc Awards. Congrats to Utada!

“HEART STATION” Taiwanese Version 03.28 + CD Data

Utada Hikaru’s upcoming Japanese album “HEART STATION” will be released in Taiwan on March 28th. Starting today, they will be taking preorders which includes a B2-sized poster as a bonus.

If you haven’t checked it out already, here are some interesting points from a portion of the “V.I.P. -Utada Hikaru- Special” that focuses on topics mainly with her life right now.
• Utada has already started working on her upcoming English album.• She mentions that as a result of her divorce last year, she has become more confident in herself and her work.
• Death plays a major role in “HEART STATION,” specifically in the tracks “Stay Gold” and “Take 5.” She views death as a tranquil place instead of something that should be feared of.
• She seems more positive about the future as she talks about having children someday as well as becoming more stronger mentally.


Speculation:”Last Friends” + “Prisoner of Love?” Though nothing has been officially confirmed, it is highly possible that “Prisoner of Love” will be involved with the upcoming Japanese drama, “Last Friends” or ラスト・フレンズ. It will broadcast on Fuji TV on April 10th. According to Utada Hikaru, the producers wanted the lyrics of “Prisoner of Love” to relate to both lovers and friends. Interestingly enough, this drama seems to fit the description quite well. According to jade_frost’s description, “Last Friends” tackles issues that afflict the current generation. The major theme in this drama will be “friendship.”
The Synopsis:
“Described as dealing with modern people and their issues, the Japanese drama stars actress Masami Nagasawa as Michiru, a beauty parlor assistant who suffered from domestic violence at the hands of her boyfriend. Juri Ueno plays Nagasawa’s classmate Ruka, a successful motocross racer who carries an unmentionable burden in her heart. Attracted to her is Takeru (played by Eita), a hair and make-up artist who has a fear of sex. The lives of the three characters become intertwined when they begin living together in the same house.”
The cast sounds very promising. A few names to mention are Nagasawa Masami, Ueno Juri, Nishikido Ryo, Yamazaki Shigenori, and Nishihara Aki. With all of that being said, it is very likely that this will be the J-drama tie-up.
