Taylor "terrified" by Apple removing her music from iTunes
Quote:
Swift, who on Sunday announced a concert video deal with Apple, took a swipe at the tech giant in June over its initial decision to not pay artists during the free, three-month trial launch of Apple Music. Apple quickly changed course, agreeing to pay royalties even in the trial period at a reduced rate. But that was not before Swift fretted over her stance.
I was struck with this overwhelming sense of fear, Swift said in an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Musics Beats 1 Radio that airs Monday. Like, are they going to turn my phone off? Are they going to turn the video camera on? Are they watching me right now? Am I going to wake up tomorrow and all of my music will be off of iTunes? she said. Like, absolute terror hit.
Oh, the complete and utter terror for a privileged multi-millionaire!
Edit: It would be admirable if her attitude was more like, "If they turn my phone off, so what? I'm standing up for underpaid artists everywhere. If they remove my music from iTunes, I'll sell it elsewhere."
is Apple even forced to allow any and every kind of music???
say for instance they didn't want a certain artist to use their platform...can they do that???
I feel like her whole life is under the table negotiations. Like how coincidental that they both got mega press from her speaking out, Apple got to look good while getting more press about Apple Music and Taylor came out looking like the most powerful artist in the music business.
