I specifically said that this doesn't condone anyone's actions. The media can't force anyone to do anything. However, it is communicating to girls that all men are evil and telling men that they are a terrible person simply because of the gender they were randomly born into.
Again, this doesn't justify anything, but people who are actually worried about rape or murder would not argue on the side of "well I can do/wear/act whatever I want and it's not my fault." While absolutely true, someone actually concerned about being raped would think "wow, maybe I should be cautious and not try to draw attention to my body just in case some basket case gets the wrong idea. It wouldn't be my fault but better safe than sorry."
The media paints a terrible picture of men and that's a fact, but that doesn't justify anyone's horrific actions.
