Well, well, well. It's been quite a year, 2011. What, with GaGa, Rih, Bey, and pretty much everyone else under the sun releasing albums, there was bound to be something to capture an individual's interest. I will compare this year in music to a batch of delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. There are the amazing bits, with tons of morsels for you to savor. However, there are also the ones that will be forgotten under the cooling rack as the ones that had a single chip or less, and are rejected by everyone. As I said earlier, there will be a couple of different lists that I will be doing. And I absolutely suck at graphics, so I am going to be recruiting my friend who is epic at Photoshop to help me later on. There will be my Top 40 songs of the year, Top 10 albums of the year, Top 10 artists of the year, Top 10 videos of the year, and the Worst 10 songs of the year. Stay tuned for

In a series of 124 music videos that failed to really appeal to me, this one individually stood out for its simplicity. I really do enjoy her videography in general, but this era wasn't really a winner for me, sans this video of course. The simplistic vibes along with the visuals help provide a good roadmap for the song.
9. Someone Like You - ADELE
Rolling in the Deep...oh, we won't even get into how awful THAT mess was. However, this song's music video seemed to effortlessly and powerfully connect to the meaning behind her lyrics. My favorite scene that sums up my opinions on this video is when she is looking at her lover in the reflection of the mirror. Overall, it is quite difficult to not go "Awwwww, girl!" when watching this video.
8. Blow - Ke$ha
Wait...Ke$ha did something this year? This video almost slipped my mind for the countdown this year, but the humor is undeniable and it is clear that she is in on the joke. This actually inspired an English project for my AP English Lit class last year, so I can't really deny it.
Now, amazing start with videos. I'm a fan of "LOT" both audio and visually, one of her BESTS for me. The video gets a pass for her usual low-budget deliveries, since it's pretty classic. I didn't care for "SLY" video or "Blow" really, but great songs.
