Beyonce is viewed as some kind of Goddess who is above all of her musical peers. Why is this? Beyoncè has only sold 3.36M albums worldwide - Katy's PRISM sold approximately this amount and people deem the album as a flop. Not to mention that these numbers pail in comparison to people such a Adele, Pink, Taylor & a few more, yet none of these people are viewed on the same level as her. The supposed 'biggest artist in the world' should be outselling all of these people, but the fact is - she's not. She hasn't had a #1 single in years and most of her singles underperform / flop. Why is this? Is it wrong that the hive and some of the GP assume she is the biggest artist? Is Beyonce just known for hype rather than her actual music and sales?

On a touring aspect, people such as Gaga & Pink perform similarly to her & Madonna is higher than everyone.

Rihanna is also an all rounder with good touring, singles & album sales.

In pretty much every musical aspect, there are many people who perform better than Beyonce, but everyone seems to have the mindset that Beyonce is bigger, better & the most popular artist. Are people right or wrong to think this?

Her live performances are great, but I think they are a little repetitive and I could name a few people who put on a better show than her. I dont even think the quality of her albums is as much as people hype them up to be.

Personally, I think Beyonce's star power and the fact that she's a big celebrity rather than a huge selling aritst blind people's judgement.

Because she is above her peers dreams.

Quantity related stats such as records sold and amount of #1 singles don't hold much weight and only last until someone else outperforms them and their #1 single becomes forgotten.

On the other hand, quality related stats such as being hailed as a legend, performer of our generation, etc., last forever and mean more than some chart stats.

So, to answer your question, when it comes to public reputation - quality >>> quantity.

Beycause BEYONCE sold well without promoting and was a GOOD album while Katy made your typical run of the mill pop album with made for the radio singles.

but she sold +200m records WW as a solo act and as a member of Destiny's and she has 4 +70/100 albums on MC

But to answer the OP, Beyonce and her team work overtime to shove her "untouchable" persona down the throat of the GP, so even with mediocre stats people mistakenly think she's doing better her peers. It's the truth

only her stans see her as superior. I think shes a great performer and a decent singer and im sure the GP doesn't think shes an amazing singer like whitney or Mariah but just an overall good entertainer. but sorry to say you do seem bothered by her.
