I feel like having my mind raped, so just wondering if anyone had any deep philosophical questions or cool facts to share. Can be about anything.

Here's mine, I often wonder where everything came from. The theory that something can't derive from nothing is literally mind blowing to me. Something can't come from nothing. Where did whatever create the universe come from, how did it come to be? How did that first thing choose to exist? At some point, there must have been nothing, how does "stuff" just decide to exist. really scary/cool to think about imo.

Yeah, the thought of something eternal/cyclical is always the answer. But where the hell does it come from. Why are we here.

I love the thought of extraterrestrial lifeforms being so far removed from our idea of life that we can't even comprehend it. There is such a variety of living creatures on our planet, who knows what's out there. I think there could even be living creatures that have evolved from a physical body to just intelligence (I'm not sure how to explain this)

There needs to be a start somewhere...

Yeah I totally get you, that's even what some non-religious individuals theorize "God" to be. We're so far down the timeline of the universe, who knows what else came about before us. Even so, how did that come to be.

The fact that your mind is subconscious & conscious at the same time. The fact that you're actually having two sets of thoughts st the same time, but you're only aware of one.

I find the most interesting things to be in statistics. It is entirely too easy to skew data based on the way questions are asked. Here are 3 I like:

- People always say that 95% of shark attacks happen in deep water, and this makes it sound like sharks are evil creatures. The fact of the matter is, people don't swim in deep water to begin with: we swim along the coast, were abysmally low amounts of shark attacks occur.

- The number of people who are injured in car accidents while wearing a seatbelt is quite high, and people use this as an excuse to NOT wear theirs. The fact of the matter is, the reason why the amount of people INJURED is high, is because the people NOT wearing seat-belts DIED, thus do NOT get counted.

- Similar to the previous one, in ww1 metal working was more common and a new type of helmet was made. The number of people injured while wearing the helmet more than DOUBLED once these new helms hit the field. Why? Because more people were getting shot, sustaining injuries, and living in comparison to the OLD helmets, where people were shot, and died.
