1) On ATRL, we like to talk about singles artists. A singles artist is someone who has difficulty selling albums but has significantly less difficulty selling singles. In a sense, all of these girls are singles artists since they tend to have more single success than album success but the question is: who are the biggest singles artists?
2) We've chosen 20 female artists who we thought were relevant on ATRL (Gaga, Bey, Rih. Katy, Brit etc..). So this list is not a top 20 of the biggest female singles artists of all time.
3) Sales were not included in our calculations since stans like to inflate them.
4) Sloth and I have spent time on this so please don't report this even though this may be a touchy subject for you.
5) The rankings are based on the ratio between #1 Singles in the 11 biggest music markets / #1 Albums in the 11 biggest music markets + longevity singles in weeks in about 20 charts worldwide / longevity albums in about 20 charts worldwide.
