50. Aloha - Møme
Genre: EDM

-technically a 2015 song but the album it's on was released in 2016 so who cares. The whole song is actually pretty generic and is really nothing special but the last minute leaves me bald and gasping for air tbh. the girl's vocals are cute too.

49. Spacetime - Tinashe
Genre: R&B (?)

She's never really done anything for me but whew she kind of came for my neck with this one. The talk/rapping verses with the airy background vocals and the wobbling synth in the background...ahh. The melody of the chorus is really catchy too.

48. Banshee - Santigold
Genre: Alternative Dance/Pop

-Off a pretty disappointing album this is definitely the big standout for me. The cheerleader-esque, shouty prechorus and the clapping are the best parts of the song. Overall its really catchy and fun and saved most of the 99c album for me.

47. On My Heart - School of Sevel Bells
Genre: Synthpop

-In a year that was really lacking (for me at least) in good synth pop albums this one kind of saved it for me. The monotone, bored and almost spoken vocals in the verses actually work really good and even though it doesnt have a proper chorus i love the instrumental and distorted vocals they used for it.

46. Staring at the Sun - Little Boots
Genre: EDM/Synthpop/Disco (?)

-The QUEEN of gay club bops comes through again. This song instantly transports me to a gay club where a really sweaty and kind of gross man is grinding on me. Also the prechorus is lowkey the best piece of music this year but the chorus kind of falls flat in comparison.

45. Giving Up On You - Wild Belle
Genre: Indie Pop

- Another 2015 song that was on a 2016 album. I discovered this song when SYG was making fun of her album cover for being a lana clone but it actually has some gems on it including this one. Also the line "im not a criminal, but after all that you put me through i wouldn't mind killing you" makes it worthy of being on this list tbh.

Spacetime really gives off the old mixtape vibes. Banshee was one of the few tracks I can remember from 99 cent. Great standout. On My Heart is fine, but yeah the vocals does sound a bit bored on it.
