►► This Is... Best of 2016! | COMPLETE 150 SINGLES LIST
Hey ATRLers! This is my first Best Of thread! here I'll post my top 25 albums, top 150 singles, and maybe also my top albums tracks and music videos later.
I'll start with my top 25 albums countdown!
TOP 25 ALBUMS:
Dec 4: #25-#21

gonna start with 5 albums.
#25 Meghan Trainor - Thank You
I always loved Meghan. Although she can be very generic sometimes, she serves bops. I didn't like her debut album Title. This one, however, is far better. Yet- not as great as I expected.
The album have some great fun bops like Watch Me Do, Better, I Love Me, Woman Up, Dance Like Yo Daddy, and Champagne Problems. And ofcurse, the smash singles NO and Me Too. Mom is kind of a guilty pleasure, I gotta admit, although it's kind of terrible.
The album got some filler tracks that I never use like Hopeless Romantic, Kindly Calm Me Down, Just a Friend to You, I Won't Let You Down, Friends, and Thank You. But overall- it's not a bad album. Anyway, I barely listen to it anymore. Sometimes I bop to NO or Me Too, and recently I started liking Better. Woman Up is a smash femenist anthem waiting to happen
#24 OneRepublic - Oh My My
I used to be a big OneRepublic stan back in 2014-2015, I went to their concert and their first 3 albums are flawless, excluding several fillers. Therefore I was very excited for this album. The horrific cover art made me way less excited for it, yet- it's a great album.
I have to admit I was disappointed from the album. Yes, it's great, but I wanted it to be perfect.
I loved all of the tracks, except for Choke, Fingertips, All These Things, Colors, and The Less I Know. If these 5 tracks were not in the album, it could have been perfect. My favourite tracks are- the amazing song A.I. (stands for Artificial Intellegance) featuring Peter Gabriel. The production is everything. Also, KIDS is damn bop and one of my favorite songs this year. One of their best songs. Oh My My, Dream, Human, and Heaven are really great tracks as well, and my favorite one- Better. This is a great album, unfortunately I don't listen to it anymore, but now I will get back to it!
#23 Jack Garrat - Phase
I discovered the incredibly talented Jack Garrat after Sia tweeted a link to his new album. The great artwork made me want to try it, so I did. then I realized I already knew Breathe Life (saw it on MTV the other day). It is an incredible song, and I had to try the album, so I did. The albums has 2 parts, the first one with 12 tracks, and the second one with 7 tracks, from his EP I think. The album is really good and I loved it on first listen. Jack got a great voice and true talent. My favourite tracks are Breathe Life, Weathered, Worry, and Suprise Yourself. I loved everything else as well, but I need to listen to this album more. anyway, great artist, you should try him.
#22 Beyoncé - Lemonade
Lemonade was one of the most popular albums this year, without a doubt. I'm not a big fan of Bey, but I love her. B'day is full of bops and Self Titled was amazing and had me shook.
Therefore I was hoping for this album to be as good as ST, yet it isn't even close. Self Titled had amazing masterpieces like XO, Blow, Jealous, Mine, Partition, etc. Lemonade, however, had no songs as good as any of these. Hold Up is the highlight of the album- a truly great and unique song. Yet- nothing like anything in Self Titled. This is still a good album tho. My favourite songs are Hold Up, Sorry, Don't Hurt Yourself, All Night, Freedom, Daddy Lessons, and Formation. Especially Daddy Lessons, i'm not a country fan but this song is really great.
#21 Bastille - Wild World
Bastille is one of my favorite bands ever- Dan is incredibly talented and has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard in my entire life.
Bad Blood is a really great album, therefore I was excited for this one. I loved all songs on first listen, I can't dislike any song by Bastille with Dan's amazing vocals.
Yet, I didn't dedicate enough time for this albums, and I should do so.
Anyway, my favorite tracks are Good Grief, The Currents, Power, Send Them Off!, Blame, Fake It, Snakes, and Campus.

#20 Fifth Harmony - 7/27
honestly I never was a fan of 5H and i'm still not one. But, this album is suprisingly good. The previous album, Reflection, was kind of horrific, excluding some bops like Top Down, BO$$, and Worth It. This time it was Work From Home, which was my damn jam all year long, I literally couldn't stop bopping to it. Yet, I didn't expect the album to be good at all. I gave it a try when it came out, and I was actually very surprised. It's not amazing but it's also not bad like Reflection. Most songs are good, and my favorite songs are The Life, Write On Me, That's My Girl, I Lied, All In My Head, Gonna Get Better, Not That Kinda Girl, No Way, and Work From Home obviously. That's a lot of songs, so.. yeah, great album.
#19 Nick Jonas - Last Year Was Complicated
I love Nick mostly because he is so hot, but after listening to his debut album "NICK JONAS" I actually found out that he is a good artist as well. That album was great and had a lot of bops. Unfortunately, this album is not as good- but still great. I was very excited when Close featuring queen Tove came out, and also loved all the promo singles released before the album. Bacon is a bop, Champagne Problems is really great (and better than Meghan's), Chainsaw and Under You slay as well. When the album came out my favourite song was immediately Voodoo, which is really good. The others are not as good, I liked The Difference, and Don't Make Me Choose, but there are some fillers like the Good Girls, Unhinged, Comfortable.. I didn't really like these. But without these- it's a great album.
#18 DNCE - DNCE
I first listened to Cake By The Ocean early this year and it was a bop, so I tried their EP and it was really good and better than anything The Jonas Brothers ever released. Then Toothbrush and Body Moves came out, which are bops as well, so I was excited for their debut album.
I liked the album on first listen- all songs are bops, except Almost, Truthfully, and Unsweet. I like DNCE for their bops, so I don't really care about anything that isn't a bop. Main bops in the album are: DNCE, Doctor You, Blown, and Be Mean. This album is not a masterpiece and I can't see myself bopping to it in 2 months, but it's really good.
#17 Charlie Puth - Nine Track Mind
I never liked Charlie Puth. In fact, I hated See You Again more than any song in 2015.
Yet, I really liked his album artwork for some reason, so I had to try the album. I did and suprisingly it was a great album. not a single bad song- my favorite tracks are One Call Away, Losing My Mind, My Gospel, Up All Night, Suffer, and the amazing song "Dangerously", which is now his new single, go watch it on Vevo and buy it on iTunes!
#16 Bruno Mars - 24K Magic
Usually I don't like albums that are too short, but in this case I was glad it's short, because I'm not a huge fan of Bruno and didn't like his previous albums at all. So I gave this one a try, and it was really suprisingly good as well. This album has only 9 songs yet it is full of bops giving me 70s/80s vibes. The lead single, 24K Magic, is a bop, but kind of disappointing for a lead single, so I expected the album to be bad, but then Versace On The Floor came out, and Chunky, which are really great. Best bops on the album are That's What I Like, Perm, and Finesse. And my favorite song in the album, although it's not a bop but a ballad, is Too Good To Say Goodbye, which is an incredible song.

#15 Shura - Nothing's Real
a few months ago my friend told me to try this cool artist called "Shura", so I tried her song "Nothing's Real", and really liked it. It's a great fun song, and the production gives me 80s vibes. Shura has a great voice, kind of like Madonna. She also looks like young Madonna in the album cover. Touch is another amazing song by her, other great tracks are What's It Gonna Be, What Happened to Us, and 2Shy.
#14 Lady Gaga - Joanne
Yes, this era has been disappointing, and yes, this is Gaga's worst album so far. (excluding C2C)
But, this album is not bad at all.
I do miss some pop/electronic music from Gaga, but it's nice to see her trying new styles.
Honestly, I liked all songs in this album. My favorites are: A-YO, which is incredibly fun and amazing and I hope it will be the next single. Dancin' In Circles, which is a bop that has to be a single, Perfect Illusion (which is a terrible lead single choice but a great song), and Sinner's Prayer. I also love Diamond Heart, Joanne, John Wayne, Angel Down, Grigio Girls, and Just Another Day. This album has no fillers. Yet- it's not as good as any of her other albums.
#13 JoJo - Mad Love.
I saw a lot of people praising this album so I had to try it. I have never listened to JoJo before.
I loved it on first listen, it's a great pop album, with a lot of bops. My favorite songs are: Music, F*** Apologies, High Heels, Good Thing, and especially Vibe. All other tracks are great as well.
#12 Little Mix - Glory Days
I really loved Get Weird, so I was excited for this album, although it came out too early. Shoutout To My Ex isn't as good as Black Magic, so I expected an album not as good as Get Weird. I kinda lost the hype, but then I heard the snippets and got excited again. I tried the album and loved all of it except for Nobody Like You. Touch is pop perfection, Down & Dirty is a bop, No More Sad Songs is perfect, and my favorite song is probably Nothing Else Matters. Great pop album!
#11 Rihanna - ANTI
I really liked this album, and wish I could give it a higher spot, but there were better albums this year. When Work came out I didn't like it, then it grew on me and I realized it's a bop. I didn't like the album on first listen, but after trying it again a few times, I loved most of it. Desperado is amazing, and Love On The Brain is Rihanna's best song ever. Consideration, Needed Me, Same Ol' Mistakes, Never Ending, Higher, Close to You, Pose, and Sex With Me are great, and ofcurse, Kiss It Better is incredible

#10 E•MO•TION: Side B
I know, this is a bad place for a legend like Carly Rae Jepsen, i'm sorry. But Side B is not as good as E•MO•TION. While the former is a great pop album, the latter is an amazing pop masterpiece and probably the best album of all time (after Delirium ofcurse). I wish there were more than 8 songs, but I can understand why some of them didn't make it to the actual album. (Body Language, The One, and Store are great, but not like anything in E•MO•TION)
However, Roses, Cry, Higher, and Fever are amazing. It's not a bad album at all (if you call it an album), I just don't find myself listening to it anymore.
#9 Foxes - All I Need
Even though I didn't really like Glorious (it's good but has a lot of fillers imo), I was excited for this album because Body Talk/Better Love/Feet Don't Fail Me Now are amazing songs. She kept delaying the release date, so I lost the hype with time, but I was still excited to try it. I loved all of it. I wouldn't say I was suprised, after all the amazing songs she released before the album. This album is underrated pop perfection, with both great pop songs like Money, Wicked Love, Shoot Me Down, and Amazing, and great ballads like If You Leave Me Now, Devil Side, Scar, On My Way, Rise Up... all songs are great, and this album is incredible.
#8 Sia - This is Acting
You might be wondering why this album's position isn't higher, since I am a Sia stan and my username is literally "This is Acting". Well, I chose the username before the album came out, but I don't regret it or anything. This album is a great pop album, an easy project for Sia. She can write catchy great pop songs in minutes, and make a good pop album out of all the leftovers. Don't get me wrong, that's an amazing skill and Sia is incredibly talented and I highly appreciate it. But I can't call this a Sia album, because afterall, "this is acting". This is not Sia, yes it's her voice, but 1000 Forms of Fear is a 100 times better, emotional, and real, and I think most ATRLers would agree. I'm not hating on this album at all, I loved it on first listen and i still do. I barely listen to the Target bonus tracks, but all the other tracks are great songs. Bird Set Free is an incredible ballad, although a little bit generic and not very unique. Alive is okay, I never liked that song too much. One Million Bullets is amazing, Move Your Body is a bop , Unstoppable is very generic and corny, but a great powerful song. Cheap Thrills is a bop as well, not as much as Move Your Body but it's a really fun song (I don't play it anymore, it was a huge hit and got overplayed).
Reaper is an AMAZING song, one of my favorites, same with House On Fire, pop perfection.
Footprints is great, but in the album's bottom 3 for sure. Sweet Design is kinda messy but I love it, Broken Glass is incredible, and Space Between just leaves me speechless everytime. An emotional powerful ballad, that feels very Sia although it was intended for another artist. Now to the mess called "This is Acting (Deluxe Version)". I think this is the most disappointing Sia release ever. Unlike the standart album, this is just a bunch of filler tracks and remixes. The Greatest is amazing and a perfect pop song, but I was hoping for a new album with it and not a reissue. It's obviously the best part of the deluxe edition, as for the rest- Confetti is a good pop song, I don't listen to it at all though, I barely remember how it sounds. Midnight Decisions is good, nothing more, Jesus Wept is awful. And The Greatest solo version is a lot better than the Kendrick one.
#7 Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman
This album is a pop perfection masterpiece. Why did I not choose it as my #1 album? because I don't really listen to it anymore, and there are better albums. But obviously this is Ariana's best album BY FAR. I wish Focus was on the standart edition, but it's still great. Moonlight is an incredible song, Dangerous Woman is a great lead singe, brilliant, incredible, amazing, showstopping, spectacular, puke on it, give birth to it, etc. Be Alright is a bop, Into You is one of the best pop songs of the decade. Side to Side is a great fun song but I wish it flopped because now it's overplayed. Greedy is amazing and hopefully the next single, and my top songs are Bad Decisions and Touch It, which are amazing. All other tracks that I didn't mention are great as well. Knew Better / Forever Boy is a little bit overrated in ATRL but it's great.
#6 The Weeknd - Starboy
This is the best male album of the year, and perhaps even the decade, don't expect another male artist in my list because Abel is the only male artist that could really made me stan him. From the moment Starboy came out (the song), and the incredible album cover was revaled, I was excited for this album so much, more than any other album this year. Later he released the great song False Alarm, and the two bops, I Feel It Coming, and Party Monster. Not long ago the full album was released, and I loved all of it- excluding All I Know, Attention, and Sidewalks. The best songs are Rockin', Secrets, A Lonely Night, Die For You, and Nothing Without You. All I Know is awful, but without it I guess this album could have been much greater, so I just choose to ignore its existence. True Colors is in the bottom 3, but it's not bad. I didn't really like Attention, and Sidewalks is kind of weird, I tried to like it, but I love only Kendrick's part, the chorus has too many autotune. The interlude with Lana is AMAZING.
Let's say All I Know, Sidewalks, and Attention never existed- then it's a perfect 15 tracks album.
I didn't mention Reminder, Six Feet Under, Love to Lay, and Ordinary Life, but obviously these are incredible songs. Very proud of king Abel!
