Okay, I "have" (a.k.a. stole) an idea for a very great and amazing game! It kind of resembles an old game Kworb used to have, but anyway, here goes!
The Best of the Best is the ultimate competition - a battle royale among our favorite artists of the decade! Here are the rules:
1) Anyone who wants to participate can. You will all PM me with a list of your top 25 artists - UNRANKED (for this ground) - by SATURDAY, JULY 26th.
On
MONDAY, JULY 28th, I will post the consensus top 100 artists of the decade as chosen by you, ATRL members. I will also post the first ten (out of 100) artists, chosen at random, that you will all submit
TOP FOURS for. These will be a
RANKED selection of your top four songs for each artist you choose to vote for - note: you don't have to submit top fours for all ten artists every week. Some weeks, you can only submit one top four if you so choose to. The rankings should look like this
# WILLA FORD
4 - Did Ya Understand That?
3 - **** The Men
2 - I Wanna Be Bad
1 - Dare
With number four being your favorite song, and number one being your least favorite. I used Amanda Willaford as an example because no one would vote for her! BESIDES ED.
I need these all submitted to me by SUNDAY, AUGUST 3rd.
MONDAY, AUGUST 4th begins the first round of the game. Players must listen to all ten songs (which is, not that hard to do) and then
POST THEIR COMMENTS IN THIS THREAD. Your RANKINGS (10 - best, 1 - least favorite) should be PMed.
I'll handle the second - fourth rounds when we cross that bridge.
Note: Some eligibility rules
- Any artist is eligible, but for the work they've MADE (note: nor released) from January 1st, 2000, to now. A single coming from an album released in the 90s is therefore ineligible. (No Come On Over Baby for Christina, or Say My Name for Destiny's Child.)
- This means that b-sides, unreleased songs, etc. are perfectly fine to vote for - but, if not many people have heard of a song you love by an artist, you might want to put it at number four in your rankings - so it can have at least some points.
Alright. Who's in?
