Honestly? I don't think that I can pick between the two. Both albums are my favorite from both of them.
I guess that I'll have to go with The Velvet Rope. I play it a bit more often than Butterfly, and the total number of songs that I love on the album is a little higher than Butterfly. Both albums are masterpieces, though.
Butterfly...Honey, Breakdown and the rest of the album have barely aged a day even though they were released 14 years ago. It's Mariah's best album and also has a sort of "magic" to it that her other albums, while excellent, seem to lack that one little extra touch. And it was my very first album as a little kid. And she looked amazing that era. She shat on any bitch past or present then.
well I will go with The Velvet Rope, I have a deeper connection with that album than butterfly.
