Just announced during the shareholders meeting: Bob Iger announced that the original writer and director Brad Bird is working on a sequel for THE INCREDIBLES.
Disney’s hit new movie-musical Frozen is heading to the Great White Way, Walt Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger confirmed to Fortune.
It’s not yet clear when the animated musical about two estranged sisters will come to Broadway, though Iger said he is in talks to adapt the Golden Globe-winning film for the stage.
“We’re not demanding speed,” he told Fortune. “We’re demanding excellence.”
The transition from screen to stage is a no-brainer for the movie, which features songs written by Book of Mormon co-creator Robert Lopez and characters voiced by Broadway stars, including Tony Award-winner Idina Menzel and Tony nominees Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad.
Frozen is Disney’s biggest hit since The Lion King, so far grossing $669 million at the box office (and that’s before it even opened in Asia). The movie’s soundtrack has also hovered at the top of the Amazon and iTunes charts.
-Marvel will develop at least four original series exclusively for Netflix, followed by a miniseries for the streaming service, it was announced Thursday.
The shows will be focused on Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, in that order, with a 'The Defenders' miniseries after.
NOW PLAYING
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Picks up where "The Avengers" left off, with Cap (Chris Evans) continuing to adjust to the 21st Century, and going forward with his alliance with S.H.I.E.L.D., represented by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Hill (Cobie Smulders). Scarlett Johansson will also reprise her role as Black Widow, Emily VanCamp (of 'Revenge') will play Sharon Carter and Sebastian Stan is returning as Bucky, who was assumed dead in WWII. Anthony Mackie will debut as the hero known as Falcon and Frank Grillo will play Crossbones, one of Red Skull's righthand henchmen in the comics.
Muppets Most Wanted - The gang is on a global tour, selling out grand theaters all over Europe—in Berlin, Madrid, London—but they, of course, get into a spot of trouble when they run across Kermit's doppleganger: the world’s number one criminal, Russian frog, Constantine. I won’t tell you any more than that, but let’s just say mayhem ensues. The film will combine the classic Jewel-Heist Genre from the 60s and 70s with Muppet humor and songs. Ricky Gervais plays Constantine's side-kick in heist-ing, Tina Fey plays Nadya, a Russian prison guard, and Ty Burrell plays a French INTERPOL agent.
Frozen - In Frozen, a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, so Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) must team up with Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), a daring mountain man, on the grandest of journeys to find the cold-hearted Snow Queen (voice of Idina Menzel), Anna's estranged sister, and put an end to the icy spell. Encountering Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.
Broadway songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez , who previously wrote songs for the 2011 film Winnie the Pooh and The Book of Mormon, have been confirmed to write original songs for the film.

DISNEY-PIXAR ANIMATED FEATURES 2015-Beyond
Disney-Pixar Animated Features:
The Inside Out - June 19, 2015 - We uniquely explore the inner world of 11-year-old girl, Riley, who's having a difficult time relocating from Minnesota to San Francisco. She's ruled by her five emotions: Joy (Amy Poehler), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Hader), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). Riley's head includes such departments as Long and Short Term Memory, Imagination Land (inspired by Fantasyland), and Dream Production (patterned after Paramount). Not only are Riley's emotions reminiscent of the Seven Dwarfs and probably the craftiest caricatured creations in Pixar history, but they're also driven by new advancements in particle effects. So, as you can see, the hand-drawn influence is infectious and has found its way up north again in a fresh co-mingling with CG.
The Good Dinosaur - November 25, 2015 - What if the asteroid actually missed Earth and giant dinosaurs never became extinct and evolved as farmers? Arlo, a 70-foot-tall teenage Apatosaurus with a cartoony face and warm smile befriends a 3-foot human boy named Spot, who joins him on an adventure outside the comforts of home.
Lucas Neff as Arlo, Bill Hader as older brother Forrest, Judy Greer as sister Ivy, Neil Patrick Harris as Cliff, John Lithgow as Poppa, and Frances McDormand as Momma.

AVATAR Officially Coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom
From the moment AVATAR was released, people were captivated by the mythical world of Pandora. When we announced that we’d be working with James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment to bring this world to life in our parks, we felt certain that this partnership and combination of talent and imagination would produce an experience unlike any other ever created.
Our combined team has taken huge steps forward in “imagineering” Pandora as a real place for our guests to see, hear and touch. At the first-ever D23 Expo in Japan, we shared an early glimpse of the plans for AVATAR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park and I wanted to share some of these breathtaking images and a short preview of what’s to come with all of you.
As these concept renderings show in epic scale, in the world of AVATAR guests will encounter awe-inspiring floating mountains and wander through a nighttime jungle of bioluminescent plants that are alive with light and sound. Guests will also discover what it feels like to soar into the sky riding a Banshee.
And the new AVATAR-inspired land won’t be the only change coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
As part of the largest expansion in the history of the park, we’ll be adding all-new entertainment experiences, including a new nighttime spectacular where live music, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery all combine to bring a show to Discovery River that will delight our guests and truly cap off their day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The park will introduce more nighttime entertainment as well, including live performers on Discovery Island (pictured above) and a new nighttime version of the Kilimanjaro Safaris.
As the world of AVATAR becomes real at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the energy and passion shared by our Imagineers and the Lightstorm team for this monumental task continues to be remarkable. I can’t wait to see the reactions of our guests as they step into a world that until now has only existed on the screen.
The Magic Kingdom pic makes me miss being there even though I was only there 4 months ago. Homesick.
Is the "Disneyland comes to life" film a documentary type thing, or based on those Kingdom Keepers children's novels?
I'm *hoping* it's based off of the Kingdom Keepers books because they're ****ing awesome. I don't care if they're written for 12 year-olds - they're so much fun.
I'm guessing the other possibility would be "Night at the Museum" meets Disneyland.
"Frozen" - 12/27/2013 - an adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Snow Queen, which the studio has been trying to get made for years now without any luck. Possibly hand-drawn animation.
