China's a big, big country. Outside the cities alone there are probably 500 million people who don't know manners - give them a break if they don't know how to behave in a 'civilised' manner!

erm, maybe you were just lucky
I was waiting in my BUSINESS CLASS flight line, and some arrogant economy-class Chinese family tried to cut me because the economy line was too long for them
IF you have money to fly on a plane, you should have enough awareness to know what is respectful and what isn't
And every time I go to Hong Kong, the ones on the plane with the crying babies, or the ones at the stores spitting mucus on the floors are ALWAYS mandarin speaking no-manners-having Chinese people who also happen to have enough money to at least try to buy class
It's the only reason I can only ever stand to visit China/Hong Kong once a year
and don't even get me started on bathrooms. It's like Chinese people have never heard of peeing accurately in a toilet and using soap.
=------
And Chinese tourist groups have to ISSUE guides for tourists to:
- not spit on the floor
- not pick their noses in public
- not steal lifejackets from airplanes
- not steal utensils from airplanes
- flush toilets
- not cut in line
