Bio:Christina Aguilera was born December 18, 1980, in Staten Island, New York. Christina is an accomplished entertainer and a star musician. She is the daughter of an Ecuadorian father, Fausto, and a Irish mother, Shelly. Christina moved around quite a bit as a child because her father was in the military. Her parents separated when Christina was seven, an she moved to Wexford, Pennsylvania, with her mom and sister Rachel.

Christina began performing at age six in school talent shows, and at eight she appeared on the nationally syndicated "Star Search". At the age of ten, she sang the National Anthem for the Pittsburgh Steelers. By twelve, she joined the star cast of "The New Mickey Mouse Club", appearing on the Orlando-based show. Two years later, the show ended and Christina took the opportunity to travel overseas, to pursue her singing career, and recorded a duet with Japanese pop star Keizo Nakanishi.

When she heard that Disney was looking for a singer to record a song for the animated film Mulan, Aguilera cut a one-take demo using the boombox in her living room. The demo was FedExed to Disney and 48 hours later she was in a Los Angeles studio recording "Reflection" for Mulan. Within the week, RCA signed her to a major label record contract.

Christina has performed in places as far flung as Tokyo, Japan, Brasov and Romania. She always kept her eye on the same goal. "I always wanted to have my own album released before I graduated from high school."

Christina's big break came with her first #1 single "Genie In A Bottle". This single stayed atop the charts for five consecutive weeks. The follow-up single, "What A Girl Wants", reached the top of Billboard's Hot 100 #1 slot for 2000. Christina's amazing new year started with a great duet performance with Enrique Iglesias at the Super Bowl Half Time Show which also featured Phil Collins and Toni Braxton.

Christina's celebrity charm has graced the covers of many national magazines, which include Entertainment Weekly, Teen People and Latina. She has performed as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Christina isn't limiting herself, and she is reinventing herself as time goes by. She say's "I want to be an all-round entertainer, I want to act, make films, make albums, do whatever I can." The career possibilities for this young hot star seem endless.

Christina Aguilera Has Reportedly Removed Her Pierceings:
Christina Aguilera has removed the last of her body piercings after marrying Jordan Bratman, out of respect for their relationship.

The singer once boasted 12 piercings, including one in her nipple and another in a more intimate spot. Over the last few years she has gradually removed most of the adornments, but had vowed to keep her nipple ring "for herself."
But sources say she decided to ditch it for Bratman, and recent pictures of her in a tight top show her not wearing the piercing.

Aguilera herself hints she's left her pierced days behind. She recently told MTV, "This is my new image now. That was in my past. I am an artist who is forever changing."

Flanked by three burlesque dancers, Christina began with Ain’t No other Man followed by Understand and Candyman.The set was completed by My Mother, which she dedicated to her own mother, and crowd pleasers Lady Marmalade and Beautiful. Her encore was Slow Down Baby. Back to Basics, her third album, is the first since her marriage to record executive Jordan Bratman in November 2005.

Christina Loses Vibe Cover
Sexy songbird Christina Aguilera, who rose to fame with her album "Stripped," is about to be stripped of a cover appearance on the October issue of Vibe.

Sources said the ax was wielded by Danyel Smith, the former editor-in-chief who was returned to power when the new owners fired Mimi Valdes and a good part of her staff recently.

"She's trying to do away with anything associated with the old staff," said one ex-employee.

Smith didn't return calls, but a mag spokeswoman confirmed that Aguilera is off the cover.

"We're extremely disappointed," said Aguilera's spokeswoman. "We were hoping they would honor their commitment. Christina put a lot of time and effort into the photo shoot and interview."

Her RCA album "Back to Basics" hits Aug. 15.

Janet Jackson is on the cover of the September issue, which is due out shortly. But that one also generated controversy.

It was about to go to press when the takeover was announced. Smith inserted herself as the editor-in-chief, angering employees who felt she should have left Valdes' name in place for her final issue. After a staff uproar, Valdes' name will appear as a "departing editor."

The hip-hop and urban-music magazine, founded by Quincy Jones, was taken over by Mort Zuckerman's nephew, Eric Gertler and his partner Ari Horowitz with backing from the Wicks investment group.

The latest owners immediately started a two-stage bloodbath that chopped close to 30 people over a two-week period.


I personally feel that this is extremely rude. Even if the interview and shoots were done under previous management, Danyel could have re-done them. The people at LD started a petition but I don't think that this will make a difference since magazines have deadlines.
