He confirmed he wrote almost all of the songs in the album.
In his defense, his last solo album sold 200k in the US and only got one single that wasn't even a hit and he didn't even get lots of promo so

yes, it was pretty different from what he did with the jonas brothers, it wasn't pop so that's probably why it didn't do good and yes, Joe's last album was also so good. I'm so sad it flopped it didn't get promo either and HWR released it in the worst way ever (at least it helped them end their contract with HWR tho)
