For some reason, I keep saying ATRL saying "Iggy's album is holding up well! It's doing fine!" etc, but the stats say otherwise.
'The New Classic' is at 246,000 (not even half way Gold) are 'Fancy' has fallen from #1, and 'Black Widow' is taking off while 'Work' has become a hit in it's own right (re-charting for months a year later; Top 10 on VEVO Weekly).
To put into perspective for 2014 alone -- Pharrell and John Legend were able to go Gold off a #1 also, with no other Top 40 hit as of today. Pitbull's album even crossed 350k during Timber's run.
To put into deeper perspective, here are the album sales for every female who has hit #1 this decade:
Adele - 21 (10,900,000+)
Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (2,800,000+)
Lady Gaga - Born This Way (2,332,000)
P!nk - The Truth About Love (2,003,000)
Rihanna - Loud (1,775,000)
Ke$ha - Animal (1,440,000)
Katy Perry - PRISM (1,437,000)
Lorde - Pure Heroine (1,348,000)
P!nk - Greatest Hits...So Far (1,280,000)
Rihanna - Unapologetic (1,144,000)
Rihanna - Talk That Talk (1,122,000)
Rihanna - Rated R (1,110,000)
Kelly Clarkson - Stronger (1,086,000)
Miley Cyrus - Bangerz (1,042,000)
Britney Spears - Femme Fatale (780,000)
Carly Rae Jepson - Kiss (283,000)
Iggy Azalea - The New Classic (246,000)
She is doing Carly Rae sales. The thing is Carly released her album way after CMM was through. Had she released it during CMM I'd think she'd have done 300k-400k.
So the question repeated -- why are her sales so this bad? They aren't 'good', 'on point', 'okay', or 'steady'.
Please keep it cute, and don't just report me thinking I'm trolling her. I'm genuinely asking.
Bolded since a good portion of the ATRL has an eh attention span.
