Twelve years. I've been doing this, technically, for twelve years. Insane to think about, really, but it is what it is. And honestly, I'm starting to get a little fed up. Not with the process of doing Best Of festivities or anything, because this is always my favorite time of the year. No, I'm fed up with not getting everything done on time. The primary offender is my singles list. It seems like I hit a wall at a certain point every year. The worst was when I only got up to the top 60 before stopping two years ago. It never fails to break me down by the end nowadays. 2011? Almost finished, but stopped at the top 5. 2012? Got to the top 30 before stopping. 2013? As I already mentioned, I didn't even get halfway through. 2014? Top 30 again.

This year, I went the extra mile to combat this particular issue. In previous years, I would complete my graphics and whathaveyou as I was posting everything...and before 2011, I could get away with doing that and still be able to finish everything on time. It's just not feasible for me to continue to try to do everything on the fly in 2015, and it's obvious through the results of that strategy in recent years that not planning ahead is a recipe for failure. To combat that issue this year, I decided to do something that I have never done before: I have completed just about everything for the YECA before this thread's creation. The albums list? Done. Graphics, blurbs, everything...done. The songs from the past list? 100% done. The YouTube list? Done. The video games list? Well...I got my hands on a game that caused me to rethink my list a bit, so that's being worked on. Historically, though, it's one of the easiest lists to complete, so I'm not TOO concerned there. Even as far as the singles list, my big albatross, is concerned, all of the graphics are done, and many of the blurbs are done. There are literally, as of the creation of this thread, no excuses for me to not finish this thread this year. NO excuses.

Want to know how serious I am about completing the YECA this year?...I have a posting schedule. No, seriously, I have a strict schedule to follow. Want to know what that schedule is? Have at! And then feel free to make fun of me when I'm unable to keep up. I'm, as always, a glutton for punishment.



As you can see, I want to update just about every single day until January 1st, 2016, with Christmas Day being the only exception. And with a lot of my graphics/blurbs/whathaveyou having been completed, with a strict schedule to follow, there's really no reason that this thread should not be done by the new year. Fingers crossed.
