Back in late 2009, Gaga released one of the most well-received pop albums of recent times, and one that solidified the huge fan base that she had built from the ground up with her hard work, dedication & talent. One of the best things to come out of all of this was a timeless, left-of-center and ridiculously catchy follow-up single to the smashes Bad Romance & Telephone: Alejandro.
Released in April 20, 2010, approximately 5 months after the album release, the fanbase was already on board & ready to take it to the top of the charts. Just like that, it was another massive hit for her across the world. The controversial video for the piece was released in June 2010, and while often misunderstood, the fanbase grew to cherish it with the passing of time.
And if this thread is any indication, the single has aged like fine wine. The Monsters almost universally regard this as one of her best songs, and countless other ATRL members have shown up round-after-round to show their support. We've watched Alejandro barrel through some massive and fellow well-loved pop hits of the year it shares: Teenage Dream, Firework, Only Girl, What's My Name?, Take It Off, Back to December, and more, just to name a few. I think the string of wins speaks to the modern day strength of her fanbase who have stuck with her through thick & thin.
