We already all know Madonna and Janet Jackson are queens of the music video era, and we already know they would smash the poll, so let's just give a chance to newer girls to find out who's the newest queen of the music video era.
Britney Spears: One of the ultimate icons of MTV, lot of iconic high budget music videos and outfits, visual innovation, prominence, and the sexual teen revolution, some artists have the voice, some artists play multiple instruments, Britney has the music videos, she's won multiple MTV video music awards, but her biggest moment came when she received in 2011 a MTV LEGEND VANGUARD AWARD, recognized as a music video legend a feat only achieved by Madonna and Janet Jackson in the past.
Beyonce: She exploded MTV countdowns, and became on of the favorite stars of MTV, her music videos always impact because of her outstanding killer choreographies and praising performances, iconic and critically acclaimed videos like: "Crazy in love" and "Single ladies" became Beyonce one of the biggest female MTV VMA winner of all time.
Lady Gaga: She succeded on reach iconic status and her good shocking music videos has a lot to due with it, She was a grower of the music video, with modest vids like "Just Dance" and "Poker Face", her first big production was "Paparazzi" since then Gaga has become one of the girls of the music video field, "Bad Romance" obtained ultimate critical acclaimed and the young new star broke MTV VMA records becoming one of the biggest VMA winners of all time.
Not sure why Beyonce is there, her videos were never a pop culture event that the general public highly looked forward to. No where close to the extent of Britney and Madonna. Any way, Gaga clearly made music videos exciting again, it's def. an event everyone looks forward to, regardless if one is a fan or not.
What about it? and even then, that's just one video out of her entire video catalog. Her videos are not an event the general public looks forward to. 'Video Phone' was immensely anticipated to everyone and the push backs made it more anticipated but that was solely do to Gaga being apart of it. 'Telephone' was bigger though, the controversy behind it due to the diner scene made it more heavily discussed within the media.
Honestly? So BTW wasn't highly anticipated? Judas? EOG? etc, etc. Yes they don't perform as well, but they are defiantly anticipated
Exactly. I don't know what they're talking about, people may complain that Gaga's video quality has decreased which is subjective but also irrelevant to the thread. The point is, out of all the pop gurls, Gaga's videos are the most anticipated by the general public and always the most talked about. She made music videos an event again and no other pop star has done that since Britney and before her there was Janet and of course Madonna.
