My poor third world country (Suriname).
I made this thread a few weeks ago about a big protest happening in my country because a transgender asked our supreme court to get 'her' sex changed in the Central Registration Office (CBB) of man changed to female.
AND IT GOT APPROVED!!!! She's officially registered as a woman now
Aren't countries with Indian/South Asian influence relatively lax on trans issues compared to gay issues? I'm pretty sure in Pakistan it's easier to be a trans person than a gay person.

Suriname is not a third world country. It was aligned with the West during the Cold War.
That's the old definition though - pretty much changed after the fall of the Soviet Union. It's now mostly based on standards of living (economy, health, etc.)
