It's hard to believe that we're already here, isn't it? It almost feels like yesterday when we were all putting together and posting our respective lists for last year's Best of. And yet, I'm stoked to reach this year's installment. Why? Well, there are two reasons. First of all, I don't have to deal with the debacle that was 2011. I feel that the blurbs were among my best ever, but, let's face it...I didn't finish the thread. It took me almost a full year for me to complete it, and I completed it in a BLOG. Because of this, this year, I've decided to scale back a bit. Unlike in year's past, I don't believe that I'll be able to bring you lists of my favorite other things, such as albums, movies, games, etc. The reason for this is because...well, I want to actually get this done before the deadline. I don't want to make the same mistake that I made last year. The good news about this, though, is that I'll be able to put in more effort, because I won't have to worry about doing as much as I did last year. This doesn't mean that there won't be any lists, though. The one list that remains from last year is the big one. And it's just as big as it was last year! That's right, for the second year in a row, we're going to look at my top 100 favorite singles of the year!
But that's not all. You see, this is (likely) going to be the last Best of that I ever do on ATRL. At this point, I am swamped by my life away from ATRL, and it's becoming harder and harder to focus on what's going on here, even for something that I enjoy doing as much as the YECA. Because of this, however, I've decided to give you guys a little treat. The 2012 top 100 is NOT going to be the only list that you see from me this year. After we get done with the 2012 top 100, we're going to take a stroll down memory lane. I'm going to take all of the singles lists, from 2004 to this year's installment, and count down my top 100 favorite singles of the YECA era. I'm extremely excited about this, because what better way to end the YECA than to take one last complete look at its history?
With all of that in mind, sit back, relax, and enjoy the (hopefully fully completed by the end of the Best of) show, because it's time for the last, most awesome installment of...
And it all begins...well, either today or tomorrow (not sure yet) with songs 100-91!
