the song is also great. I love the end when Frusciante does that amazing solo. he's the most underrated guitarist out there today.the stuff he does live, and on his solo albums usually don't translate on RHCP albums, but hopefully it does on the new album.

But there's no Green Day reference in the video. The part where Anthony is wearing black and a red tie, that's supposed to be THEM(Red Hot Chili Peppers). I thought it was a Green Day reference at first then I saw the red symbol behind the band and that's their symbol, so yeah the last part is supposed to represent the present(themselves)

Sorry, but I agree with people who aren't big on the song. The video is cool (I'm pretty sure the guy a lot of you are trying to figure out is Jimi Hendrix), I like all the different artists they are in it (Nirvana, Elvis, Motley Crue, etc.), it's pretty entertaining.

But the song, yeah. Not a big fan of. And YES, I DO understand the connections to "By the Way" (as an ALBUM) that someone made. No, it doesn't sound like "By the Way" the song, but it could EASILY fit on that album. Doesn't sound like much change at all. BUT, I'm still very confident the album will be amazing, with a good mix of new and old chili peppers. Totally looking forward to it.

Video = very good. Song = not bad, but I know(hope) the album will be much better. Plus, especially with the chorus, it just sounds like it belongs on the OC. No thanks. Love the solo though.
