You know what people... I think the real fail here isn't Charice's video... You can't expect this to be a GaGa or Beyonce video. Charice is all about the singing, and I'm going to have to say I enjoyed it for one major reason....
Because it's all about the singing!
Charice is known for her big voice, and we don't get to see as much of artists actually showcasing their voices and having fun. This video, whether or not it's the actual music video, really takes us down to the basics of what singing is about, and to be disappointed by it because of any grandeur you might have personally dreamed up for the video is out of line. As all of your statements are, this is a matter of opinion, but I really think you're all being too harsh and a bit unrealistic. This is Charice's first major video and some of you are counting her out already.
I think oftentimes we forget that these singers and entertainers are people too, and because of that fact I think we should be a bit more respectful (unless any one of them has personally done something to you that's worthy of them losing your respect). What happened to music? Has it all become just a facade? Do we always have to have thousands of dollars spent on videos that focus more on special effects than the singer(s) or band in the video? I think we deserve a good mix.
My final word on this video is that I love it for its honesty and vulnerability. At the same time, if there's another video I'm glad we at least got to see this one.
A good video isn't really a necessity these days. It's not like any station on TV actually plays videos on a regular basis, and I can think of numerous hit songs in the past couple years that have had utterly forgettable videos.
