We've received a complaint from one of our largest advertisers about ATRL's involvement in a property they own called UKMIX. Due to
a recent feud and an unwarranted invasion of their forum by our users, UKMIX has suffered a devastating server crash and has been forced to use a much less reliable back-up server.
After hearing about this incident, josephs911 and I reached out to the webmaster and administrators of UKMIX to apologize for our members' behavior. In doing so, ATRL agreed to merge with UKMIX to become a unified forum. This is ONLY temporary. They will be moving their site onto the ATRL server until they can afford a new one. As a result, there will be some new changes to the board as part of the compromise.
No Holds Barred & Stand Your Ground will be closed
This is to avoid any sort of conflict involving our members and the members from UKMIX.
GIFs limited to 125x125 pixels and only one per post
After much deliberation on the .gif issue, we've agreed to a compromise that gives you the ability to use .gifs, but makes them more organized throughout discussions.
Explicit content policy will be increased
It's important to us that we respect the sensitivities of our new guests.
Chat Threads will be closed
Random discussions and other immature content will removed from The Lounge
(see above explanation).
We're also cross-referencing IP information to see which ATRL users created UKMIX accounts for the purposes of trolling. These users will be dealt with appropriately once the investigation is complete.
Update: A plugin will be implemented to restrict all .gifs over 125x125 pixels. We'll be using the regular maintenance period to do a test run, then launch the plugin by Monday night /Tuesday morning.
