I think this Paula Deen hating bandwagon is so over the top
this is a woman who was born in 1947 and was raised in Georgia. CLEARLY she's going to have somewhat of a prejudice against blacks... she was a child and teenager during the civil rights movement. Odds are her own family was racist and that influenced her.
I just can't comprehend that people act so surprised by this. The things she said weren't even that awful. I'm not condoning racism or anything but I don't understand why people are surprised that an old, southern woman has said racist things in the past. And things that she's said, like in that interview where she talks about her black friend, she probably doesn't even think sound bad when she says them because they were okay when she was growing up.
And now her show is being cancelled?
that's just too much. It's sad that the media overblowing something like this can ruin someone's career because that's an incredibly poor justification. If it was one of their chefs like Giada or Rachael Ray, I'd be more understanding, but this is just dumb.
Whatever, I'm sure she'll have a great retirement with her millions of dollars.
