I was in the great lip-synch performances thread and noticed there was some Beyoncé performances. I knew she uses pre-recorded vocals but I didn't know she used it that much . So, i have a few questions:

When did she start using pre-recorded vocals?
Does she use them on tour?
And do we have performances where she dances and sings at the same time without lip-synching?

Please don't report this, this is not flamebait. Beyoncé is a great performer, she has A LOT of energy and obivously the girl can sing. i just want to know the truth.

Honestly, I'm a big Britney fan and I wish she'd at least do something like this and re-record her performance vocals to songs that are fifteen years old or older

She really should!! I mean, most people don't notice Beyoncé's pre-recorded vocals and that's why she's so respected.

How can you tell if something is pre-recorded? I nvr pay attention enough. I only notice blatant lip syncing.

I didn't know Beyonce did prerecorded vocals

She uses them on every tour. Every artist does. Only fools think Beyonce is singing an entire 2 hour concert live. Hell the "Formation" opening is lipped.

Beyonce pre-records so well that it's hard to tell when she's doing it. For example, we only know about the whole inauguration lipsync because it was leaked by an insider.

People spend a long time working out which sections of her tour setlist are prerecorded. It's often very spliced up.

Gaga/Rihanna do not prerecord at all on any of their tours in the last 5 years. Unsure about other artists but I'm sure many are the same, it's a matter of principle.

There's nothing wrong with lip syncing or pre-recording. Doing a concert for that long every night, every week will damage your voice. By the time you're well into your career your vocal quality will be much lower.

Beyonce's pre-recorded vocals are usually not as noticeable because they don't really sound that much different from her live vocals, Tinashe & Justin Beiber for example are pitchy & breathy live but have their pre-records pitch corrected to death and dance with absolutely no breath making it obvious.

I can't even tell although I'm told Love On Top was rarely performed live.

Plus you can hear her live adlibs. It's not like she isn't singing at all. It's just backup in case she can't breathe.

Plus, Bey goes harder than everyone else in every other aspect of her craft. Her visuals, performing-skills and overall artistry is incredible. I don't mind her using pre-recorded vocals at all.

Beginning was live. The choreography break seemed pre-recorded.

Whew! This ones a challenge. Beginning was live. Hold Up is questionable, Sorry/DHY/Formation were live to a large extent (although Sorry is suspect).

Completely live. You don't go on Oprah and lip-sync.
