Did Avril Predict the Music Industry Changing in 2011?
In 2010, Avril Lavigne was writing an acoustic, piano driven record, that she wished to write alone. RCA records refused to release the album, despite it having several release dates. Avril was sent to work with Max Martin as a compromise, and 'What The Hell' was released. In the press release for 'Goodbye Lullaby' Avril dubbed 'What The Hell' as not representing what she envisioned for the album. Avril was very vocal about RCA impacting on the vision she had for her album, and forcing her to release upbeat pop singles.
In 2011, Adele came along and slayed the globe with her ballads, and other artists such as Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran followed suit easily with the acoustic, piano driven ballads. Did RCA ruin Avril Lavigne's chances of smashing during 'Goodbye Lullaby'? The music industry was already flooded with pop music like 'What The Hell'. Why did RCA think they knew the music industry better, when Avril clearly was going in the right direction?! Did RCA ruin Avril's career?!!!!!!! Conspiraciessss be real hunty!
Lol. The musical trend you referenced is downtempo R&B soul pop with the voice as the star instrument. Avril's material you posted is the same tired early 00s lite rock pop that she's always done.
Wish You Were Here did reflect the fact that acoustic instruments driven songs were so demanding at the time. I agree with you. But, the sound GL is still a bit childish expect the original tracks,so yeah...

Rolling In The Deep is really soul pop and please define "soul pop"

They don't have any of the original tracks, I think they just meant what the songs were gonna be.
