Hello!
Welcome to my Best Songs and Albums of 2014 countdown! Over the next few weeks leading up to New Year's Eve, I will be counting down my personal favorite 100 songs and 15 albums of this year. I have done my best to include as many of ATRL's favorite artists as possible.
As there are many songs released last year that I did not find out about until this year, I have decided to include sleeper hits on my lists. As for albums, all albums must have been released between December 1, 2013 and December 15, 2014 in order to be included in this countdown. The order of the countdown is based on both last.fm plays as well as my perceived quality of the songs/albums.
I will also be doing a countdown of my Top 40 Artists of the year. These artists will be revealed randomly throughout the next few weeks without a set schedule, and the order of these artists will be based off of last.fm plays of the last 12 months.
I will list the most-played album and song for each artist and will also give a brief description of what the artist has done in the last year and what I would like to see them do in the future.
It would mean a lot to me if you all participated. I worked very hard to choose my favorite songs and albums of the year and I can't wait to share them with all of you!

Songs #51-55 and album #6 will be revealed on Tuesday, December 23rd.

Merry Christmas! Countdown on break for Thursday, December 25th.
Countdown resumes! Songs #41-50 and album #5 will be revealed on Friday, December 26th.
Songs #31-40 and album #4 will be revealed on Saturday, December 27th.
Songs #21-30 will be revealed on Sunday, December 28th.
Songs #11-20 and album #3 will be revealed on Monday, December 29th.
Songs #6-10 and album #2 will be revealed on Tuesday, December 30th.
Songs #1-5 and album #1 will be revealed on Wednesday, December 31st.
Times of countdown will vary depending on the day, so stay perched!
